GoSellerGo Data Deletion Policy
Language: English

Introduction

At GoSellerGo, we prioritize the security and privacy of our customers' data. Our Data Deletion Policy outlines the methods and procedures we employ to ensure the secure deletion of data, adhering to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-88, "Guidelines for Media Sanitization". This policy applies to all data storage devices and media used by our platform.

Scope

This policy covers all electronic data storage media owned, leased, or used by GoSellerGo, including but not limited to hard drives, solid-state drives, removable media, mobile devices, and cloud storage solutions.

Data Sanitization Methods

In compliance with NIST SP 800-88 guidelines, GoSellerGo employs the following data sanitization methods:

Clear (Cleaning): Data is made inaccessible through logical means, such as overwriting with new data or using software-based data destruction tools. This method is suitable for data that requires a basic level of security.

Purge (Purging): Data is rendered unrecoverable to individuals without specialized equipment. Techniques such as cryptographic erasure and degaussing are examples of purging methods used by GoSellerGo.

Destroy (Destruction): Physical destruction of the storage media is performed, ensuring data cannot be recovered. Destruction methods include shredding, incineration, or chemical destruction, depending on the sensitivity of the data.

Implementation

  • Responsibility: The IT Department is responsible for the implementation of this policy. All data sanitization processes are documented and logged to maintain a record of compliance.
  • Training: Employees handling sensitive data are trained in data sanitization procedures and the importance of adhering to this policy.
  • Auditing: Regular audits are conducted to ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-88 guidelines and this policy.

Data Retention

GoSellerGo retains data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. Once data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted according to the procedures outlined in this policy.

Review and Updates

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and technological advancements.

Commitment

GoSellerGo is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our customers' data. By adhering to the NIST SP 800-88 guidelines, we ensure the secure deletion of all data, mitigating the risk of unauthorized access or data breaches.
