GoPricer explained like a lemonade stand: fast repricing with brakes on

Many sellers who price by hand avoid repricers for one reason. They picture two tools chasing each other down until both sell below cost. GoPricer, GoSellerGo's Amazon repricer, reacts when Amazon reports a competitor price change, but every move stays inside limits you set and a set of default brakes.

A lemonade stand with a helper

Picture your lemonade stand on a street with three others. Before opening, you write two numbers on a card: the lowest price you will ever accept for a cup and the highest you would charge.

Your lowest number is not a guess. It covers lemons, sugar and cups, the street's cut of every sale, and a small profit you refuse to give up.

A helper watches the other stands. When one changes its sign, your helper decides whether yours should move, never past the numbers on your card, and notes each decision and its reason in a notebook.

Your helper also follows speed rules: no big jumps in one go, no changing the sign every few minutes, and backing off when you change the sign yourself. Those rules ship with default values. GoSellerGo has not documented whether you can change them.

In GoPricer terms, your card is the min/max band and profit floor, and the notebook is the History screen. Your helper does not improvise either. GoPricer is rule-based, and the help center says so directly: "AI does not make the decisions; you give clear, predictable rules."

Step 1: You set the limits

For each SKU, you set a minimum price, a maximum price and a strategy. Your price never leaves that band.

You can add an optional profit floor on top. It is built from your product cost plus an Amazon fee estimate, plus the minimum margin you choose, and per the safety rails page the price "never drops below it."

Next you pick one of three strategies per SKU:

  • Aggressive: stays just below the lowest competitor.
  • Buy Box hunter (default): goes below whoever holds the Buy Box. Once you have held it for 30 minutes (default), it tries raising your price in 1.5% steps while staying below any competitor.
  • Match: never undercuts and matches the competition. GoSellerGo positions it as the option for avoiding price wars.

With no competitor on the listing, GoPricer targets your max. Default undercut is 1 cent.

Step 2: It hears when a competitor moves

When a competitor changes price, Amazon sends GoPricer a notification (ANY_OFFER_CHANGED). Per the help center, "your price is re-evaluated immediately."

Notifications can be missed, so GoPricer also checks the competition on its own every 5 minutes as a fallback.

Two caveats. GoSellerGo does not put a number of seconds on "immediately." And the sync frequency listed per plan on the pricing page (1 hour down to 1 minute) applies to orders and inventory, not to repricing.

Step 3: It decides and logs the reason

Once re-evaluated, a new price is checked against the safety rails below. If it passes, GoPricer writes it to Amazon. Every decision is logged with its reason in GoPricer > History.

History also has a "Why?" button that returns an AI explanation of a decision. It is available on the Scale plan and above. AI only explains; it never sets the price.

Six safety rails and their defaults

These come from the safety rails page. Each number is a default. Which values you can edit, and by how much, is not documented.

  1. Floor. Never below your min or your profit floor, never above your max.
  2. 25% per move. A single step cannot change the price by more than 25% by default. On a suspicious jump, GoPricer waits instead of following.
  3. 15-minute cooldown. At most one price change per product every 15 minutes.
  4. 30-minute pause. More than 4 changes in an hour triggers a 30-minute observation pause. GoSellerGo describes this as stopping two repricers from pushing each other down forever.
  5. 2-hour hands-off. Change a price yourself in Seller Central and GoPricer leaves that product alone for 2 hours.
  6. Emergency stop. One click on the GoPricer main screen halts all automatic pricing at once. An admin-level global kill switch also exists.

On the race-to-the-bottom worry, keep the two protections apart. Your floor holds on every move, whatever a competitor does. Rail 4 slows a back-and-forth with another repricer with a 30-minute pause, but the help center does not describe what happens once that pause ends. Your floor is what protects your margin either way, so set it carefully.

By hand vs a separate repricer vs GoPricer

GoPricer entries below use documented product facts only. For a separate repricer subscription, we describe general structure as our own framing, not sourced fact. Behaviour varies by tool, and we make no claim about any specific one.

  • Who notices a competitor move. By hand: you, whenever you check. Separate repricer: the tool, at whatever speed it works. GoPricer: Amazon's notification, with a 5-minute check as backup.
  • What keeps you above cost. By hand: your own discipline. Separate repricer: whatever limits that tool offers and you configure. GoPricer: min/max band plus an optional floor from cost, Amazon fee estimate and margin.
  • Brakes on fast moves. By hand: you are the brake, and also the bottleneck. Separate repricer: depends on the tool. GoPricer: 25% step limit, 15-minute cooldown, 30-minute pause, 2-hour hands-off (all defaults).
  • Record of decisions. By hand: whatever you write down. Separate repricer: depends on the tool. GoPricer: every decision logged with its reason in History.
  • Where it lives. By hand: Seller Central, paid for in your time. Separate repricer: generally a tool of its own, outside your other software (our general description; check the tool you are considering). GoPricer: inside GoSellerGo on Growth and above.

In our view, hand pricing still makes sense for a short catalogue where competitors rarely move. It stops scaling once you have more contested listings than hours to watch them.

Plan requirement and open questions

GoPricer is included in Growth (up to 1,000 repricer SKUs) and in Scale and higher tiers (unlimited). Starter does not include it, per the pricing page. Confirm current prices and plan details there before you decide.

A few things remain undocumented. Beyond whether the rail defaults can be edited, the emergency stop is described as halting "all automatic pricing": no per-SKU stop is mentioned, and the help center does not say what happens when you switch it back on.

A safe first week

In our view, floors are easier to get right before peak order volume arrives than during it. A careful start looks like this:

  1. For each SKU you plan to reprice, add up product cost and the Amazon fee estimate, then the margin you accept, and set your min at or above that. Our guide on setting a deal-price floor before peak FBA fees walks through the math.
  2. Choose the strategy on purpose: Match if you mainly want to avoid a price war, Buy Box hunter if you want to win the box and then climb back up.
  3. Start with 1-2 SKUs, as the help center recommends, and read GoPricer > History daily.
  4. Make one manual price change in Seller Central and confirm GoPricer leaves that product alone.
  5. Find the emergency stop on the main screen before you need it.
